At times, it refers to romance films or chick flicks wherein it involves and revolves about the affection of the main characters in the story. It focuses on relationships, fidelity, temptations, the happily-ever-after, and other romantic plots. For this year, 2012, here are the most romantic movies that have been and would be shown in big screen.
10. This Means War
It’s a funny romantic movie that revolves to two CIA operatives who are best of friends and partners. Their friendship would be tested when they fall in-love to the same woman being portrayed by Reese Witherspoon. The two victims of love are portrayed by Tom Hardy, and Chris Pine. The fight between them begins as they try to out win each other’s right to get the girl that they want. This movie was released on February 17, 2012.
9. The Five-Year Engagement
This movie was released on April 27, 2012 which, was being starred by Jason Segel, Alison Brie, Emily Blunt, Rhys Ifans, and Chris Pratt. It’s another romantic comedy movie about the engagement of Violet Barnes played by Emily Blunt and Tom Solomon, portrayed by Jason Segel who got engaged after a year of dating. Their nuptials were delayed by series of unexpected situations, and until Violet Barnes, shows disinterest on the wedding because she prioritizes her career over their wedding.
This is a combination of fantasy, drama, and romance that focus on a woman who are being courted by two of the most competitive men. However, these men were not aware that the love that they feel was the same feelings that they had centuries back when they were angels. This was produced by Mayhem Pictures. It is set to be shown this year, but no updates yet as to when.
7. Think like a Man
The story is about four couples wherein women in each relationship is an avid reader and follower of Steve Harvey’s book entitled Act Like a Lady, Think like a Man. They all followed what the author of the book has written through their respective partners. This was released on April 20, 2012 which, is a romantic comedy film, and its literally based on Steve Harvey’s book released in 2009.
6. Good Deeds
This movie was shown in all theaters last February 24, 2012 which, is being starred by Tyler Perry, which he also directed. It is a romantic drama movie being played by Tyler Perry himself as Wesley Deeds who was engaged to Natalie played by Gabriella Union, but later fall in-love to Lindsey Wakefield who was a single mom, portrayed by Thandie Newton. 5. Perfect Sense
This romantic movie was released on February 10, 2012 which, was directed by David Mackenzie. It is starred by Ewan McGregor who played as a chef in the movie who will fall in-love to Eva Green who was a scientist in this film. Their love happened while in the middle of epidemic loss of sensory perceptions.
4. The Vow
This movie has a similar plot to the Notebook, but, the difference was the struggle of the main characters played by Rachel McAdams as Paige and Channing Tatum as Leo, the husband of Paige. When Paige met an accident, she lost all the memory that she had with her husband, and her husband was trying to win her heart back, and the memories that they have built together. It was released in the market on February 10, 2012 and directed by Michael Sucsy.
3. Big Miracle
This is starred by Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski which, was released last February 03, 2012. It’s about the reporter named Adam Carlson played by John Krasinski who publicized the situation of the three trapped gray whales in the Point Barrow in Alaska. He asked the help of her ex-girlfriend to be one of the volunteers in saving these whales.
2. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2
This movie is expected to be released by November 16, 2012. The plot of the movie begins when an immortal and vampire daughter was born, Renesmee Cullen, the Cullens would do everything to protect the child, and their whole clan. Nonetheless, another twist of the story, this two-year old kid talks like an adult.
1. Titanic 3D
This is a 3D version of the original 1997 Titanic Film which, was released last April 04, 2012. It’s about the ill-fated meeting of a girl and a boy that played again by the original main casts, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet that came from different social background.
